Multiple fire crews worked to put out a 66-acre brush fire in the town of Bombay last week, according to the New York Department of Environmental Conservation.DEC Forest Rangers were called to assist at the scene of a wildland fire that was spreading on County Route 2 on May 22. Rangers worked alongside members of fire crews from Bombay, Dickinson, Fort Covington and Hogansburg to fight the flames over a period of seven hours.Officials learned that the fire was caused by someone burning a large debris pile of stumps.
