According to NBA insider Shams Charania, Robinson has no timetable to return.
It’s unclear how the 28-year-old suffered the injury. He suffered the injury earlier in the week.
Robinson’s status for the NBA Finals, which start in less than a week on June 3, is uncertain. If he were to miss time, it would be a heartbreaking blow for the Knicks, as he has become a vital piece for their success.
In 13 playoff games, Robinson is averaging 5.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 0.6 blocks while shooting 73.7 percent from the field. The Florida native is averaging 2.5 offensive rebounds per game.
Robinson excels as an offensive rebounder, something that has become his calling card. His combination of elite official tools, unmatched positioning and high motor makes him a force to be reckoned with for opposing defenses.

If Robinson misses a good chunk of time in the Finals, that could be the difference between hoisting the Larry O’Brien Trophy and not.
The Knicks will face either the Oklahoma City Thunder, who have the likes of big men Chet Holmgren, Isaiah Hartenstein and Jaylin Williams. As for the San Antonio Spurs, another team they could match up with, they possess arguably the best big man in the game, Victor Wembanyama.
