A little bit of rain did not stop more than 100 people from showing up to the 37th annual Laurelton Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 25.
Cadets from the NYPD’s Explorer’s program led the parade, which started at Francis Lewis and Merrick boulevards to the Veterans Memorial Triangle at 225th Street and North Conduit Avenue.
Several people from different community organizations were at the event, including the Kickers Junior Soccer Club, left.
Elected officials, such as Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz and Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, who spoke about making life more affordable for everyday people, including veterans, were also at the event.
Military personnel, such as Sgt. Major Jackie Wilson, were key figures at the event.
