The Menands Fire Department on Saturday announced that its operational equipment is all back in service after a fire last weekend burned through the village’s firehouse.

The department says it also responded Saturday to its first mutual aid call since the fire.

Menands firefighters are also using resources from both the Schuyler Heights Fire District and the Shaker Road-Loudonville Fire Department.

While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, Menands Mayor Brian Marsh said an iPad with a lithium ion battery was located in the cab of the truck that was deemed a total loss. Most of the damage is in that area, so fire investigators are looking to see if that was the cause of the fire. No official ruling has been given.
