Staten Island man killed in motorcycle crash on NJ Turnpike
A 51-year-old Staten Island man was killed in a motorcycle crash on the New Jersey Turnpike in Bergen County over the weekend, police said.
Troopers responded to the crash around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 31, on the Turnpike’s western spur in Rutherford. According to New Jersey State Police Detective Sgt. Caitlin Brennan, 51-year-old Ardjent Shaini of Staten Island was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle when he lost control of the vehicle, overturned and struck the guardrail.
Shaini was ejected from the motorcycle and fatally injured, Brennan said in an emailed statement. The crash remains under investigation, police said.
