Battello in Jersey City is known for its incredible views, delicious Italian eats, and status as a premier venue for weddings and other private events. The restaurant is now welcoming some exciting news, with a sister location named Barchino joining it on the waterfront. Barchino, a pizza-focused eatery, has its space under construction and is set to open in fall 2026. Read on to learn about Barchino and what it will bring to Jersey City’s waterfront dining scene.
About Barchino
Barchino will be a pizza-focused restaurant on the waterfront in Jersey City. It will be located next to its sister location, Battello, at 502 Washington Boulevard. According to its website, customers can expect “inventive pizzas that blend traditional passion with creative flair, offering a unique dining experience that stands apart and invites you to savor every bite.”
Ryan DePersio, a renowned local chef at Battello, recently showed the construction progress on Barchino’s space on Instagram. He shared that the space will feature a 15-seat bar, a main dining room with open space and over 100 seats (similar to Battello’s), and outdoor seating. Barchino will also feature an open kitchen with a Marra Forni pizza oven, and customers will have the opportunity to sit at the kitchen counter and watch the chefs cook. The venue will also feature live music performances. It will open in fall 2026.
About Battello, Its Sister Location
Battello, also located at 502 Washington Boulevard, is an upscale waterfront restaurant known for its Italian dishes, seafood, and drinks, especially its frozen espresso martini (an HG favorite). It is also a popular wedding venue and regularly hosts private events, and was named Best of New Jersey Venues by The Knot in 2014 and 2015. It has one of the best views of the Hudson River among restaurants in the city, and the dining room even has retractable glass walls in case you choose to eat indoors.
The restaurant is also home to events, including Battello Sound, its series of weekly live music performances. Diners can enjoy music on Thursdays from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and Fridays + Saturdays from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. For the full list of upcoming artists, visit here.
