BLYTHEVILLE— The NEA Queens bootcamp week officially kicked off on Tuesday as they met with members of the Blytheville Lions Club and followed up with a meeting at the Blytheville Rotary Club on Thursday, where they performed their talents.
Miss Lights of the Delta’s Teen Hayden Jenkins emceed both events, as her talent is a cheerleading stunt routine. Miss America has added cheer stunts as a new talent that can be performed. Hayden was unable to perform at either club due to the height of the ceilings at the Blytheville Country Club.
Performances on Tuesday included: Miss Lights of the Delta Riley Strube, tap dancing to “Let’s Grove” medley by Earth, Wind and Fire; Miss Northeast Arkansas Paisley Rae tap dancing to “Blame it on the Boogie” by the Jackson 5; Miss Steel Captial’s Teen Reece Oguin jazz dancing to “I’m still standing” by Elton John; and Miss River Delta’s Teen Jane-Anne Rees performed a musical theater dance to “My Strongest Suit”.
Performances on Thursday included: Miss River Delta Audriann Wolfe singing an Arkansas edition of “I’ve been everywhere”, by the late Johnny Cash; Northeast Arkansas’s Teen Bethany Austin performed “Roundtable Rivarly” on the violin; and Miss Steel Capital Marybeth Boroughs played an Oboe rendition of Swan Lake.
The Queens also received information from State Representative Joey Carr (R-Armorel) on policy updates, the history of Arkansas, and much more on Tuesday after the Lions Club. On Wednesday morning, they sat down with NEA Town Courier reporter Joseph Fondren for a Facebook live interview. After which, they spent the afternoon touring Nucor Yamato Steel.
