GREENFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – A Staten Island man allegedly responsible for hitting and killing a Greenfield family in a Virginia bus crash is facing new charges.

Jing Sheng Dong, 48, is now facing three additional felony counts of involuntary manslaughter and a reckless driving charge.

Around 2:35 a.m. Friday morning on I‑95 south in Stafford County, Virginia, traffic was slowing when a bus traveling from New York City to Charlotte failed to slow down in a work zone and crashed into a car, setting off a chain-reaction involving multiple vehicles, troopers said.

State Police said five people were killed. Dong was charged with involuntary manslaughter for each death.

Of the 5 killed, 4 were in an Acura SUV, 45-year-old Dmitri Doncev, 44-year-old Ecaterina Doncev of Greenfield and their two children a young boy and teenage girl.

A Worcester woman was also killed.

Dong remains in the hospital for his injuries and was arrested Monday afternoon. He was ordered to be held without bond.
