New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani is getting rid of bedtime.

The New York Knicks are in the NBA Finals. The citizens of the Big Apple can’t miss that.
So on Monday, Mamdani signed an executive order that “repealed bedtime.”
“Bedtime is repealed! All of you can watch the Finals,” the mayor told those in attendance.
He was signed by some youngsters as he signed the document, clearly hoping to create some positive vibes ahead of the Knicks’ first Finals appearance in more than a quarter-century.

Anyone born since Y2K has never been alive when the Knicks played in the Finals. That will change on Wednesday.

New York swept the Cleveland Cavaliers in dominant fashion in the Eastern Conference Finals, and they’re on a historically dominant playoff run.
They’ll go up against the San Antonio Spurs and 7-foot-4 superstar Victor Wembanyama, so the task will be far from easy.
The city is buzzing, though, and tickets are selling at astronomical prices for when Games 3 and 4 are back in Madison Square Garden.
Mamdani wants to make sure nobody misses the action, and now that he’s taken away the job of parents and gotten rid of bedtime, the Knicks better deliver so that the youngsters staying up late are happy, not sad.
