Motorcyclist fatally injured after losing control on Turnpike

A Staten Island man was killed in a motorcycle crash on the northbound New Jersey Turnpike in Rutherford Sunday morning, State Police said.

Troopers responded to a crash at 9:30 a.m. on the Turnpike’s Western Spur in Rutherford.

Ardjent Shaini, 51, of Staten Island was driving a Kawasaki motorcycle, when he lost control of the vehicle, which overturned and struck a guardrail.

Shaini was thrown from the motorcycle and fatally injured. The crash remains under investigation.
