Now that The Devil Wears Prada 2 press tour is over, Anne Hathaway probably won’t be making as many overt references to cerulean sweaters. However, that doesn’t mean she has to expel all blues from her wardrobe entirely.
Yesterday afternoon, the Oscar-winning star stepped out in New York City, where she was greeted by fans as she exited her hotel in Manhattan. Throughout the past few months, while promoting TDWP2 and Mother Mary, Hathaway has been leaning into more extravagant dressing, with the help of her stylist, Erin Walsh. But for this outing, she opted for a much more low-key fit.

This spring, you might have noticed that sleepwear tops have become more than just a bedroom staple, and here, Hathaway embraced pajama dressing with a breezy sky-blue set. (Could this, in fact, be considered cerulean? It caused serious debate here in the Harper’s Bazaar office. I leave it up to you to decide!)
Her separates consisted of a billowing button-up top and wide-leg pants, which both appeared to be made of linen. For accessories, the Princess Diaries star embraced the early 2000s by carrying a black Le City bag from Balenciaga, and she matched her handbag with a pair of inky kitten-heel sandals and oversize sunglasses. Finally, for an extra pop of color, her fingernails and toenails were both painted bright red.

Hathaway may have already released a couple of films this year, but she still has three more on the way, including The Odyssey (out July 17), The End of Oak Street, and Verity, an adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel of the same name.
As Hathaway continues to support these upcoming projects, she just might sneak in a couple more blue, and maybe even cerulean, ensembles, too.
