NEW YORK (PIX11) — A website that helps New Yorkers find affordable childcare in the city is getting an upgrade.
Families in New York City will now be able to find out if they are eligible for federal social programs like WIC and SNAP using the website created by the United Federation of Teachers.

New Yorkers with children will also be able to see if they are eligible for the Housing Choice Voucher program, commonly known as Section 8.
“We built this tool to help our own members find and afford childcare, but we realized it could make a real difference for all families, said UFT president Michael Mugrew. “So we made it available and free to all New York City residents, and we keep improving it.”
The website, which debuted in Oct. 2025, allows families in New York City to search over 10,000 home-based, center-based, and school-based childcare options across the five boroughs.
Listings are searchable by budget, zip code, languages available, hours of operation and dozens of other parameters that families looking for childcare want to know.
