THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) – A New York City man killed his brother while he was asleep by smashing his head with a bowling ball, according to officials.
Jayson Dargan, 43, of the Bronx, will spend the next 17 years behind bars for the crime, Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark announced Tuesday.

Dargan pleaded guilty to manslaughter on May 8, 2026, according to court records.
Back in October 2023, the defendant placed a bowling ball inside a black garbage bag and struck the victim, his 44-year-old brother, Timothy Dargan, in the head multiple times until he died, according to police reports.
“This defendant, in cold blood, killed his own brother as he slept. This one senseless act has torn a family apart. With this guilty plea and sentence, justice has been served,” Clark said.
It remains unclear what provoked the defendant to kill his own brother.
