Boathouse Rooftop is a bi- level, sumptuous venue with several nicely appointed dining rooms decorated with a light, summery décor featuring light wood, hanging basket light fixtures, seashell pendants, and white netting. The rooftop is plush with sofas for lounging and tables for dining that await you to enjoy the cool breezes, cock- tails and spectacular views. Boathouse Rooftop has a private dining room for up to 30 guests and the lovely staff are dressed in shades of white and tend to you with professionalism and grace.
Our lovely server, Bee, brought us a couple of their creative cocktails: ‘Sunrise in Santorini,’ which arrived in a clay dish atop a bed of seashells and shaved ice, and ‘Forbidden Fig’ mixed with bourbon, grapefruit, and hibiscus. Spritzes, fine wines, and craft beers are on hand and promise pure refreshment on a hot summer night while overlooking the greatest city in the world.
Small plates are great to share while you sip or start your dinner. We began our meal with Boathouse’s exceptionally delicious grilled octopus with baby potatoes, olives, and cherry tomatoes with a puddle of red pepper almond sauce ($26). Savory lamb meatballs with merguez sausage come with baby potatoes, tzatziki sauce, and toast points to soak up the wonderful juices ($21). Our beet salad was bright with sweet beets, arugula, grapefruit slices, and red onion with tangy vinaigrette. Dip into creamy spinach dip with Parmesan cheese and toasted baguette or pass around the crispy fried calamari with harissa aioli and cilantro.
Boathouse Rooftop’s entrées are prepared on the spot and beautifully presented on gleaming white plates. Lamb chops are cooked to your temperature and served over a mound of delicate mushroom risotto and savory plum glaze, garnished with baby kale. Braised short ribs are slowly cooked for hours served with celery root mash, Vidalia onion, asparagus, and pomegranate reduction. Lobster ravioli are tender pasta pillows topped with lobster cream sauce, while the branzino fillet is served with roasted fennel, cherry tomatoes, micro- greens, and rosemary lemon butter.
Elegant desserts include molten lava cake with fresh berries and vanilla ice cream, crème brulee, and fluffy tiramisu. Visit for Brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 12-4pm and enjoy an elevated menu and drinks while you soak in the views.
