public records has upgraded its sound system in The Atrium.
The collaboration marked the second between Devon Turnbull, the engineer behind the cult OJAS audio brand, and Norwegian firm NNNN for the New York venue. They previously created a smaller sound system for the club’s outdoor space, The Nursery. Turnbull also created the sound system in the club’s main room, The Sound Room. The Atrium is Public Records’ secondary space, and has hosted Cinthie, upsmamy and Jump Source this year.
“Six flown ON M I loudspeakers—the visual and sonic centerpieces of the system—complement the industrial architecture of the room and provide true reproduction of source material,” the club said on Instagram.
OJAS currently has a hi-fi listening room on display at the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum. NNNN recently upgraded the sound system at London club fabric’s Rooms 2 and 3.
