MANHATTAN (KSNT) – The Riley County Police Department reports that it has arrested a suspect following a shooting that occurred last week.

RCPD officers responded to a report of shots fired around 1:50 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11 in the 1300 block of Marlatt Avenue. Officers located a 35-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at the scene. He was then transported to Topeka hospital for treatment.


Chief Kansas Supreme Court Justice on leave, will miss October docket

Police arrested a 38 year old man from Manhattan after he turned himself in without incident just after 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14. He was arrested on charges of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, criminal discharge of a firearm as well as felony criminal damage to property.

Police issued the man a $1,000,000 bond and he is currently confined in the Riley County Jail. The investigation is active, and 27 News will provide updates as they become available.
