Following a season that saw Manhattan High finish 15-15 and advance to the Class 6A regional championship game, five Indians earned All-Centennial League softball honors.
Freshman Azzie Foveaux headlined the group, earning Centennial League Newcomer of the Year honors while also being named a first-team all-league selection.
Foveaux made an immediate impact in her first varsity season, batting .324 with a .383 on-base percentage and .925 OPS. She totaled five doubles, three triples, four home runs, 18 RBI and 18 runs scored.
Joining Foveaux on the first team was junior Gracyn Neitzel, who led Manhattan offensively throughout the season. Neitzel batted .383 with a .412 on-base percentage and a team-best 1.122 OPS. She finished with seven doubles, five triples, six home runs, 28 RBI and 30 runs scored.
Senior shortstop Kat Ball also earned first-team honors. Ball wrapped up a four-year varsity career by earning another all-league selection after anchoring Manhattan’s defense up the middle. Offensively, she totaled three doubles, six home runs, 14 RBI and 16 runs scored.
Sophomore Josi Alesana earned second-team all-league recognition after starring both at the plate and in the circle. Alesana batted .374 with a .418 on-base percentage and 1.095 OPS while recording 15 doubles, five home runs, 24 RBI and 14 runs scored. As a pitcher, she posted a 10-2 record with a 2.55 ERA and 62 strikeouts across 93.1 innings.
Junior TT Young rounded out Manhattan’s selections on the second team. Young batted .241 with five doubles, one triple and one home run while driving in 21 runs and scoring 23 times. She also added six stolen bases.
All-State rosters for Manhattan High and area teams have not been released at the time of publication.
