DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — THE CATHEDRAL BASILICA OF ST. JAMES in Downtown Brooklyn will be the setting for the ordination on Saturday of Transitional Deacon Paul Zwolak, 27.
A native of Queens and the son of immigrants, Zwolak will be ordained to the priesthood, with Diocesan Bishop Robert Brennan presiding. Deacon Zwolak attended elementary school in his parish of Our Lady of Hope, and graduated from Archbishop Molloy High School and St. John’s University. He completed his seminary formation at St. Joseph Seminary in Yonkers.
During his years at Archbishop Molloy, Deacon Zwolak competed in cross country and track. An avid runner, he continues to run eight to ten miles regularly. His parents, Jacek and Krystyna Zwolak, immigrated from Gdańsk, Poland to Middle Village in the 1990s.
