A woman was fatally shot inside the Harborview Terrace public housing complex early Sunday morning, police said.

Officers responded around 12:45am to the NYCHA development on W55th Street near 10th Avenue, where they found the victim with a gunshot wound to the head. Medics took her to Mount Sinai West, where she was pronounced dead.
Detectives are working to determine her identity and confirm her age. “There’s no arrest and the investigation is ongoing,” an NYPD spokesperson said.
Residents reported a significant police presence around the Hell’s Kitchen complex for several hours after the shooting.
