Fresh off a regional championship and a return to the Class 6A state quarterfinals, Manhattan High girls’ soccer placed six players on the All-Centennial League teams.
Junior Lauren Booe and senior Kameron Felice earned first-team honors for the Indians, while Savanna Heitmann and senior Evelyn Thornburg were named second-team selections.
Sophomore Avarye Meeker and freshman Lexie Oehme rounded out Manhattan’s honorees with honorable mention recognition.
The awards capped a successful season for the Indians, who finished 10-8-1 and reached the state quarterfinals for the first time since 2023. Manhattan opened postseason play with a 2-0 win over Topeka High before upsetting No. 2 seed Maize 3-2 to claim a regional championship and advance to the final eight.
Booe, a first-team selection, led Manhattan’s attack throughout the season. Entering the postseason, the junior midfielder paced the Indians with 10 goals and five assists.
Felice joined Booe on the first team after helping anchor a Manhattan defense that recorded eight shutouts behind junior goalkeeper Jocelynn Gawith.
Heitmann, a sophomore defender, earned second-team honors after emerging as one of the Indians’ top offensive threats throughout the season, while Thornburg also landed on second team in her final high school season.
Meeker and Oehme were recognized as honorable mention selections. Oehme made an immediate impact as a freshman forward, joining Meeker as another key underclassman contributor for the Indians.
Hayden swept the league’s major awards after becoming the third team in Kansas history to end season undefeated, winning the 4-1A state championship with a 21-0 record.
Senior Carsyn Broxterman was named Player of the Year, freshman Emma Slyter earned Newcomer of the Year and Hayden coach Klaus Kreutzer was selected Coach of the Year.
