MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – Riley County police were investigating an unattended death on Monday at Manhattan City Park.
Officials told 13 NEWS that the unattended death was discovered in the public restroom located near the park’s splash pad area.
There was no immediate word on whether foul play was suspected.
After the body was discovered, Riley County police asked people to avoid the area of Manhattan City Park on Monday morning.
“We ask that you please avoid the spash pad area of Manhattan City Park until further notice,” police officials said in a Facebook post from 8:52 a.m. Monday. “Thank you for your cooperation.”

According to a Facebook post, Riley County police said that “children are safe and there is no threat to the public: at the park, located near 11th Street and Poyntz Avenue.
The scene was reported to be cleared as of 10:25 a.m. Monday, police officials said.
