Spectrum News NY1 will host a live debate on Tuesday, June 9, featuring five Democratic candidates for the seat in New York’s 12th Congressional District.
The district includes the Upper West and East sides and much of Midtown.
There is no incumbent in the race. Rep. Jerrold Nadler, who has served in Congress since 1992, is retiring after his current term.
Although there are a slew of candidates vying for the seat, only five candidates, who all met Spectrum News NY1’s fundraising criteria, will participate. Those candidates are Manhattan Assemblyman Micah Lasher; George Conway, an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump; Manhattan Assemblyman Alex Bores; public health expert and advocate Nina Schwalbe; and Jack Schlossberg, grandson of President John F. Kennedy Jr.
The 90-minute live debate, which will be held at CUNY’s Baruch College, will air at 7 p.m.
Viewers will also be able to watch for free on Spectrum News NY1’s digital platforms.
