Pelham Art Center is pleased to announce IRVA: Inspired Retired Visual Artists, on view from June 11 through July 19, 2026.

IRVA (Inspired Retired Visual Artists) brings together retired professionals, age 75 and older, who create original artwork across a wide range of media. What began more than 25 years ago as a weekly lunch gathering has evolved into a vibrant and inclusive community of artists exhibiting throughout the tristate area and online. Through ongoing collaboration, discussion, and constructive critique, members continue to develop their artistic practices while inspiring one another creatively.

The exhibition showcases the diverse talents and perspectives of artists whose dedication to creative expression continues well into retirement. Working across photography, painting, ceramics, sculpture, glass, and mixed media, the featured artists demonstrate that artistic growth and innovation have no age limit.

“The IRVA exhibition illustrates that art is a lifelong endeavor. After retirement through art, these artists built friendships, continued learning and developed deeper introspection into the process. I feel I have so much to learn from this exhibit and the artists in it,” offered Nancy Mazzei, Interim Executive Director of the Pelham Art Center.

The public is invited to attend the exhibition’s opening reception on Thursday, June 11, from 6 PM to 8 PM. The evening will include a brief artist talk and a live jazz performance by the Leslie Pintchik and Scott Hardy Duo, offering visitors an opportunity to engage with the artists and celebrate the exhibition’s opening.
