Emmanuel Rivera and Quadir Ingram, both 18-years-old from Manhattan, along with two 17-year-old girls, were arrested following the burglary investigation on Smith Lane around 10:06 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, according to Nassau County police.

Police responded after receiving reports that four people were searching a parked vehicle before entering an open garage, authorities said. Officers located the group riding three scooters and a bicycle before they attempted to run from the scene on foot, police said.

A subsequent investigation led to all four suspects being located and taken into custody. During the arrest, Ingram allegedly refused verbal commands, resulting in officers deploying an Electronic Control Device to subdue him, according to police.

Ingram was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment. While there, he allegedly spit at an officer and headbutted him, causing injuries, police said. The officer was also treated for injuries sustained during the incident.

Investigators later determined the scooters and bicycle used by the group had been reported stolen, authorities said.

The two juveniles were charged with petit larceny and released on appearance tickets, according to police. Rivera and Ingram were each charged with two counts of petit larceny and burglary. Ingram was additionally charged with assault, police said.

The defendants were scheduled to be arraigned on Monday, June 8, at First District Court in Hempstead, according to police.
