As the summer solstice arrives, Brooklyn will become part of a worldwide dance floor.
Red Bull Midsummer, a new global electronic music event connecting seven cities across three continents, will make its New York debut on June 20 at Sunset Park Rooftop in Brooklyn. The event is part of a synchronized 28-hour experience following the sun from Tokyo to Los Angeles, linking dance floors across the globe in real time.
From sunrise in Tokyo to stops in Mumbai, Vienna, Berlin, London, New York and finally sunset in Los Angeles, Red Bull Midsummer aims to transform local parties into one shared global moment. At the center of the experience is a live broadcast feed connecting each city, allowing attendees to see and interact with crowds dancing thousands of miles away as the event unfolds across time zones.
In a festival landscape where tickets can easily climb into the hundreds, Red Bull Midsummer’s Brooklyn stop starts at just $35 for an all-day pass. The affordable price point opens the door for a new generation of dance music fans to experience a lineup featuring techno pioneer Juan Atkins, Andre Power, BAMBII, UNIIQU3 B2B Shekdash and more.
The Brooklyn edition is designed to reflect New York City’s rich and ever-evolving club culture, bringing together pioneers, tastemakers and rising stars from across the electronic music spectrum. Juan Atkins, widely regarded as one of the originators of Detroit techno, joins cultural curator and DJ Andre Power, Toronto-based electronic artist BAMBII, New Jersey club music trailblazer UNIIQU3 in a special back-to-back set with Shekdash, as well as Anastazja, Ayanna Heaven, Black Rave Culture, PLYR1 and Tim Fields.
Red Bull recently expanded the lineup with the addition of JT and Floorplan, adding even more firepower to an already stacked bill.
Beyond the music, the event will feature movement and wellness programming throughout the day, with classes from organizations including The Ness and The Fit In. The experience is designed to celebrate not only dance music, but also the communities and cultures that continue to shape it.
