The New York premiere of Andrew Stein’s tech thriller, directed by Hersh Ellis, will play a limited run at the Pershing Square Signature Center this summer.
A starry cast has been assembled for the New York premiere of Disruption, a new Off-Broadway play written by Andrew Stein and directed by Hersh Ellis. Performances will run at the Pershing Square Signature Center from July 22 to September 13, with opening night on August 2.
Disruption follows a tech entrepreneur named Nick who, following his big exit from a successful career in Silicon Valley, pitches his three best friends his next idea: an algorithm that promises to help them through life decisions better than they can. But even if a computer can know them better than they know themselves, should they listen?
The cast of Disruption off Broadway features Jason Ralph (The Magicians), Tony Award nominee Conrad Ricamora (Oh, Mary!), Jasmine Sharma, Tony nominee Elizabeth Stanley (Jagged Little Pill), Joe Tippett (Mare of Easttown), Golden Globe nominee John David Washington (BlacKkKlansman, The Piano Lesson), and Shaunette Renée Wilson (The Resident). Additional casting has yet to be announced.
The creative team includes set and costume designer Zoë Hurwitz, lighting designer Reza Behjat, sound designer Caroline Eng, video designer Yana Biryükova, and movement director Ryan VanDenBoom.
