A mentally-ill woman caught on video screaming, “Jews are eating kids!” before she ripped out a fistful of a Jewish nurse’s hair during a beatdown on a lower Manhattan subway train has been indicted on hate crime charges, authorities said Wednesday.

Diana Smith, 45, was ordered held on $10,000 bail during her Tuesday arraignment in Manhattan Supreme Criminal Court over the objections of prosecutors who pressed for higher bail.

She was indicted on charges including assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, and aggravated harassment — all as hate crimes — for the May 31 attack on the crowded C train heading into the Canal St. station.

The 23-year-old victim managed to record much of the 2:15 p.m. clash on her cell phone.

“Jews are eating kids!” Smith screams in the recording.  She then leaned in and said, “You’re a Jew, I can smell the kids.”

Smith also said she “could smell Jews,” that “Jews kill and eat babies,” and that “Jews can’t see their reflections in mirrors,” police said.

The victim, identified in published reports as a Jewish nurse, recorded Smith but otherwise tried not to engage and attempted to laugh it off. A moment later, Smith struck the victim.

“Don’t touch me!” the victim screamed, the video shows, as other straphangers got involved.

“It’s OK for her to eat a kid, but I can’t choke her down?” Smith yelled at the crowd as the two women were separated.

During the fight, Smith ripped out a chunk of the woman’s hair and punched and kicked her, cops said.

“I was just assaulted!” the victim said, turning her cell phone camera onto herself for a brief moment.

The victim was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital, cops said.

“She lunged at me. She choked me twice. She kicked me. She ripped my hair out,” the victim, who asked not to be named, told CBS News New York. “It was a hate crime against the Jewish community. This wouldn’t have happened if I wasn’t Jewish.”

Cops arrested Smith shortly after the incident and took her to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. A grand jury indicted her Monday.

Smith appeared virtually from the psych ward at Bellevue Hospital for her arraignment.

Prosecutors asked that Smith be held on $30,000 bail but Judge Daniel Quart granted her $10,000 bail and ordered her transferred to the Rikers Island. Her next court date is Sept. 3.
