A woman doing laundry inside a Manhattan Beach laundromat was killed Tuesday night, June 9, when a vehicle crashed into the building, authorities said.
The collision occurred at the Suds & Duds Coin-Op Laundry, at 975 N. Aviation Blvd., about 6 p.m.
Officers arrived to find the woman injured. She died at the scene.

A dark-colored, small Mercedes-Benz SUV had crashed through the laundromat’s windows and ended up partially inside at an angle. The laundromat sits in a strip mall.
The driver of the SUV was not injured in the crash, Sgt. Jessica Borello said.
Police were investigating the cause of the crash, but said alcohol was not believed to be a factor.
The dead woman’s name was not disclosed by police pending notification of her relatives.
