Hot Girls Organize (HGO) supported congressional candidate Chuck Park — who is challenging Grace Meng in the Democratic primary June 23 — gathering in Woodside on Wednesday evening for a grassroots canvassing event and New York Knicks Finals watch party, coined “Hot Girls for Chuck.”
The canvassing event took place at Wild Goose, an upbeat Irish bar in Woodside, bringing together over 30 volunteers, organizers and community members for an evening of voter outreach ahead of the primary.
Dozens of participants canvassed local neighborhoods in support of Park and his campaign for Congress before joining fellow supporters to watch the Knicks win yet another game in their historic Finals run.
HGO is a New York City-based grassroots political organization that mobilizes young voters and supports progressive, working-class campaigns. It was originally formed during the 2025 mayoral election cycle and has expanded its work around housing justice, mutual aid and civic engagement.
The event was co-hosted by content creator Nikita Redkar, who is known for her humorously biting political commentary and extensive knowledge of history and pop culture.
The creator, comedian and filmmaker reaches more than 1.5 million followers on social media platforms, including TikTok and Instagram, through content intended to make politics and current events accessible to younger audiences.
Organizers of the event said the strong turnout and three-part event series underscored growing enthusiasm among younger voters seeking new ways to engage in local politics.
Park and HGO will host one more canvass event in Woodside on June 17 at 5:30 p.m.
“I’m fighting against a corrupt system that allows billionaires and corporations to buy influence in our elections,” Park said.
The congressional candidate emphasized that he is running on a platform that champions universal childcare income and universal healthcare. “Every family deserves economic security and access to care,” he said.
Park’s team said not only is it tapping into the Gen Z voter population, but it is also embracing women across generations, including millennial moms who currently run a group called Queens Moms for Chuck.
Just two days ago, Park hosted a community event at Ehrenreich-Austin Playground in Forest Hills and personally served up scoops of cherry, rainbow, vanilla chip and lemon flavored ices provided by Lemon Ice King of Corona, an iconic local community vendor.
“From canvassing to phone banking, young voters are helping lead a movement for a future that works for everyone — not just the wealthy and well-connected,” Park said.

According to Kayla White, the events director at HGO, the canvassing event reflected the organization’s mission to engage young people in political action through events that center culture and community.
“Nothing has brought New Yorkers together quite like the New York Knicks,” White said. “We are so grateful for the opportunity to cultivate a community that both values progressive politics and knows how to have fun with each other.”
The organization said the event also marked a continuation of the group’s efforts to support progressive, working-class candidates across New York City.
Cait Camelia, co-executive director of HGO, said the organization supports Park because its members believe it’s crucial to elect leaders who challenge the status quo upheld by corporate Democrats.
“We wholeheartedly reject the politics of the past, which prioritizes profit and political power over the needs of working-class people,” Camelia emphasized. “Chuck is a grassroots candidate who rejects AIPAC and corporate PAC money, meaning he will only ever answer to the people who elected him — not billionaires.”
Camelia also highlighted the organization’s commitment to supporting candidates who align with its broader political priorities, noting that Park aligns with the organization’s mission to remove AIPAC’s influence from NYC politics.
“We are committed to electing leaders who use our tax dollars to support families at home — not murder families overseas,” she continued. “We are in a crucial moment that requires leaders who reject foreign and corporate influence. We are proud to endorse a candidate who is committed to this mission.”
Ananya Ramachandran, a member of HGO, said she was excited not only to support the Knicks but also change in the city.
“It’s amazing to see a candidate who is outside talking to people and meeting them where they are,” she said. “It was amazing to celebrate such a historic win with Chuck there, and I hope there will be more wins to come in June for NYC — both in sports and politics.”
Park, a former U.S. diplomat born and raised in Queens, is running a grassroots campaign centered on issues including affordable housing, universal childcare, Medicare for All and immigration reform.
