In a city where wellness often comes packaged as a new app, fitness challenge or productivity hack, one Brooklyn-based collective is betting on something much simpler: play.
Perfect Days Collective — a wellness organization founded earlier this year — will host “Field Day: Recess for Adults” on June 27 in Prospect Park, bringing back childhood games such as potato sack races, tug-of-war, water balloon tosses, dizzy bat and limbo for grown-ups looking to disconnect from daily pressures and reconnect with one another.
The free event, which encourages a $25 donation to support future programming, is part of the organization’s expanding slate of community-centered wellness experiences throughout New York City and beyond.

Founded by Danielle Bitts, Gabe Snow and Ken Yu, Perfect Days Collective was created in response to what the founders see as growing loneliness, burnout and digital fatigue. A 2025 American Psychological Association report states that one in three adults experiences loneliness. Their mission centers on fostering connection through “human connection, movement, play and time outdoors.”
“The event is our stake in the ground against hype-optimism,” Bitts said in a statement. “I say this as someone who spent years wearing all of the devices, obsessing over data and pushing my body to the brink of breakdown thinking it was healthy behavior. I’m not standing on the other side of the playground where intuition leads the way and I’m waving over as many friends as possible.”
Additional events planned for the summer include an introduction to beekeeping, bounding in Central Park, an ambient sound experience hosted in a classic-car garage and a paint-and-sip workshop centered on herbal tea and emotional expression through color theory.

As Perfect Days Collective continues to grow, founders say they are building a network of wellness practitioners, educators and health professionals across the U.S. and beyond, with partnerships extending to Costa Rica-based wellness organizations and local health providers.
“Adults don’t need another wellness protocol,” Snow said. ‘They need more opportunities to play, laugh and remember what it feels like to be fully present with other people.”
