The cabaret duo The Skivvies, featuring Nick Cearley and Lauren Molina, will return to Joe’s Pub July 20.
The 9:30 PM performance, entitled Film Strips 2: Back in the Habit of Electric Boogaloo, will also feature special guests Matt Doyle, Maria Wirries, John Riddle, Nora Schell, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Andy Mientus, and Kuhoo Verma.
The evening, according to Cearley, is a “follow up to our Film Strips show last year. Wild arrangements from movies that meant something to us whether nostalgic, absurd, bad, or amazing.”
Actor-musicians Cearley and Molina tour extensively as the
underwear-clad musical duo whose ever-changing lineup of special guests
join them in stripping down onstage to perform mash-ups and
unconventional covers of pop tunes, showtunes, and their own original
material.
During the pandemic, The Skivvies recorded their debut album, The Rocky Horror Skivvies Show, available in stores and streaming on all platforms.
