STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The borough’s Community Boards will hold several public meetings next week, with residents getting the chance to weigh in on playground improvements, commercial waste zoning, and upcoming transportation projects.

Community Board 1

The board has three committee meetings on the schedule next week.

At 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, a Triple Joint Committee Meeting — bringing together the Rosebank/Shore Acres and Silver Lake/Sunnyside/Grymes Hill/Westerleigh/Willowbrook committees alongside the Parks Committee — will be held at the Board Office, 1 Edgewater Plaza, Room 217. The meeting will continue discussion of the Kaltenmeier and Terrace Playground Improvement Projects. The Rosebank park is one of 10 citywide slated for reconstruction.

At 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, the West Brighton/Randall Manor Committee will meet via Zoom. The agenda includes a presentation from the Department of Sanitation on commercial waste zoning. Community Board 2

The agenda includes a discussion from the Public Service, Traffic and Transportation Committee on a proposed one-way street conversion study for Elmhurst Avenue.

The Environmental Protection and Parks Committee will cover the designs for the Dongan Playground Multi-Purpose Area in Dongan Hills, as well as plans for a sports complex at Willowbrook Park, to be built on the former tennis court site on Eton Place.
