NEW YORK CITY (WABC) — While most of the celebrations across the city were peaceful, some chaos ensued overnight in the wake of the New York Knicks championship, including a school bus that was set on fire.
Video captured flames erupting from school bus that was lit on fire on 42nd Street near Eighth Avenue by the Port Authority Bus Terminal.
While most fans celebrated peacefully, there were some who went too far.
The buses were believed to be part of the city’s World Cup transportation plans.
Police also say a 17-year-old boy was shot once in the foot during celebrations at 42ndStreet and Broadway.
He was taken by private means to Bellevue Hospital where he is in stable condition.
There are three people of interest in custody and a firearm was recovered at the scene. There’s no motive at this time and no charges have been filed so far.
Official also say there were multiple arrests made for assault and disorderly conduct.
A handful of officers were injured, but they are going to be OK.
