Crowds poured into Manhattan streets late Saturday night after the New York Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5 to win the NBA championship, with celebrations quickly escalating into chaotic scenes.
As fans flooded the city, NYPD officers were deployed across Manhattan to help control the massive crowds.
Video from the scene shows officers lined up in what appeared to be riot gear.
One hectic incident unfolded outside the Port Authority Bus Terminal on 42nd Street, where a school bus was set on fire after fans climbed on top of it.
The fire broke out shortly after the Knicks secured the title, though it remains unclear how the blaze started or who was responsible.
