A 17-year-old boy was shot amid the chaos in Times Square early Sunday after the Knicks’ historic NBA championship win, police said.
The teen was shot in the foot at about 2 a.m. at W. 42nd St. and Broadway, police said. An NYPD vehicle took him to Bellevue Hospital because the rampaging crowds of fans around Times Square prevented ambulance access, cops said.
Police took three persons of interest into custody, with charges against them pending. Cops recovered a gun from the scene.
The shooting comes as out-of-control fans lit a school bus connected to the World Cup on fire nearby, set off fireworks and damaged vehicles. There were 63 arrests.
