New York City is set to host a ticker-tape parade and City Hall ceremony Thursday to congratulate the Knicks on their first NBA Finals championship win in 53 years, Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced after the team’s win Saturday night.
The Knicks beat the San Antonio Spurs 94-90 in Game 5 to clinch the series 4 games to 1.

It was bedlam on Broadway as the New York Knicks won their first NBA championship in 53 years on Saturday night, with exuberant celebrations marred by mayhem and violence, including gunshots in Times Square.
Police said a total of 63 people were arrested Saturday night and early Sunday morning. Ten NYPD members were hurt, one of whom was punched in the face, authorities said.
3. Thousands attend annual Puerto Rican Day Parade
The annual Puerto Rican Day Parade stepped off in Manhattan on Sunday.
