DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — BROOKLYN ORG, A PHILANTHROPIC and community investment organization in Kings County, which describes itself as “a champion for Brooklyn,” will host its third annual nonprofit conference at St. Francis College, 179 Livingston St., today from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This year, the focus is on communicating and elevating the work of nonprofits. The conference will cover the fundamentals of branding, staying concise and on message, and communicating during difficult times.
Brooklyn Org is a partner and platform for local philanthropy that gives everyone a part to play in creating change. Over its 15-plus year history, it has moved more than $150 million to nonprofits in partnership with generous Brooklynites through its community-powered grantmaking and donor advised funds. Brooklyn Org funds more than 100 organizations annually working across every issue, while investing in the development of emerging nonprofits and leaders.
In addition to welcome remarks from Brooklyn Org President and CEO Jocelynne Rainey and St. Francis College President Tim Cecere, the event will feature 13 speakers and six panel conversations.
