A 79-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man were both shot in their legs after gunfire erupted in broad daylight on a Bronx street corner Wednesday, police said.

The victims were struck at W. 183rd St. and Andrews Ave. N in University Heights around 1:23 p.m., according to cops.

Both victims were rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where they are expected to survive.

Police are searching for two men spotted fleeing the scene heading south on Andrews Ave. N. There were no arrests.

Investigators believe the younger victim was the shooters’ intended target. He has four prior arrests, including an Aug. 12, 2023, bust for criminal possession of stolen property.
