While New Yorkers continue celebrating the Knicks’ second NBA championship in 53 years, many sports fans are also turning their attention to what is hailed as the world’s biggest sporting event: the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

With the tournament’s group stage underway, Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso announced Brooklyn Mundial, a series of family-friendly World Cup watch parties “for the people” across the borough. Made possible through a grant from NYC Tourism + Conventions, the events celebrate the world’s biggest soccer tournament coming to New York City.

The Brooklyn beep said there was “no better place on earth” than Brooklyn to watch the World Cup matches, which will be broadcast in partnership with Telemundo.

“Every nation playing has fans right here, in Flatbush, Sunset Park, Bay Ridge, Crown Heights, Bushwick,” Reynoso said. “Whether you’re wearing your home country’s colors or just there for the love of the game, these watch parties are an opportunity for Brooklynites to come together and celebrate what makes this borough so special. Thank you to NYC Tourism + Conventions, Telemundo, Action Lab, Coney Island, and the Cyclones for helping make this possible.”

The Brooklyn Mundial watch parties kicked off Wednesday night at The Post BK in Greenpoint, where fans gathered for screenings of the Panama vs. Ghana and Colombia vs. Uzbekistan matches.

Fans can catch the action at three more Brooklyn Mundial watch parties across the borough:

June 19: Maimonides Park, Coney Island

Held on Juneteenth, June 19, in partnership with the Cyclones, the fan fest will feature a live screening of the USA vs. Australia match. Doors open at 1:30 p.m., and kickoff is at 3 p.m.

June 19: El Santo, Bushwick

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for the Brazil vs. Haiti match, which begins at 8:30 p.m. on June 19.

Hosted in partnership with Action Lab, the indoor-outdoor experience will also feature a virtual goalie booth, halftime entertainment, light food and drinks, and performances by Eli Efi, Roque Starz, DJ De La Ceiba, Kaila Bule and more.

June 25: Mr. Fire Bar & Grill, Cypress Hills

Doors open at 6 p.m. for the June 25 concert-style event, which will feature live screenings of the Japan vs. Sweden match at 7 p.m. and the Turkey vs. USA match at 10 p.m. The event will also include halftime entertainment, light food and drinks, and performances by DJ Toshi, Rah Digga, MC Joha, Rockness Monsta and more.
