An officer has been struck by a vehicle and a suspect has reportedly been shot in the Bronx on Sunday evening.

A wild incident in the Bronx on Sunday evening left a cop injured after being struck by a driver, who was subsequently shot and wounded by police, it was reported.
According to sources familiar with the investigation, the police shooting unfolded just before 6 p.m. on June 21 outside a strip of storefronts at 380 Fordham Road, within the confines of the 46th Precinct.
While details are still emerging, sources say that a police officer was struck by the driver of a vehicle. The circumstances that led to the officer being injured are not yet known, but sources close to the investigation indicated the cop was struck amid a pursuit involving a reported stolen vehicle.
Sources said the injured officer was rushed to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive. He is the second officer to be injured in an incident this weekend; on Friday, a member of the Emergency Services Unit was shot and wounded during a Brooklyn standoff.
Meanwhile, the driver in Sunday’s Bronx incident was reportedly struck by police gunfire. The driver was whisked to Saint Barnabas Hospital in critical condition.
Police have created a perimeter along Fordham Road between Marion and Decatur Avenues and are asking the public to avoid the area amid the ongoing investigation.
