NEW HAVEN, N.Y. — Human remains found in New Haven have been identified as John T. Humphrey, who was reported missing in 2012.

The New York State Police in Pulaski confirmed that on Sept. 1, the property owner of 451 Darrow Rd. discovered the remains while clearing a trail.

The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office responded, and DNA comparison identified the remains as Humphrey, who was born on Nov. 21, 1963, in Oswego.

Humphrey was last seen on June 2, 2012, walking along St. Rt. 104 near the New Haven Fire Department after leaving his residence at the Sumatra Apartment complex in Scriba.

He was 48 years old at the time and a U.S. Army veteran.

Investigators report no indications of foul play, and the cause of death remains undetermined pending further examination.
