Bronx detectives are still hunting for the gunman who executed a man on Monday evening.
According to police sources, the shooting unfolded outside of an apartment building located at 413 East 187th St. just before 7 p.m. on June 22. Surveillance video obtained by ABC7 shows the suspect dressed all in black clothing walking in the roadway, appearing to stalk his victim.
Moments later, a single shot rang out, police sources said. Shortly thereafter, officers from the 48th Precinct rushed to the location after receiving a 911 call that a man had been gunned down on the sidewalk.
When the officers arrived, police reported, they discovered a 21-year-old man with a bullet wound to the head. Police attempted to revive the man until medics arrived.
EMS rushed the victim to Saint Barnabas Hospital, but he could not be saved and was pronounced dead. His identity is being withheld pending proper family notification.
The gunman fled on foot. No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
