1. Here are the results of New York City’s June primary
Election Day for the June primary election is over in New York City.
New Yorkers cast votes to pick their party’s candidates for Congress, state Assembly and state Senate. There was also a Democratic primary for New York state comptroller.
In some of the highest-profile races:
Brad Lander and Darializa Avila Chevalier defeated incumbents in congressional races.
Claire Valdez will be the Democratic nominee to replace outgoing Rep. Nydia Velázquez.
Micah Lasher will be the Democratic nominee to replace outgoing Rep. Jerrold Nadler.
Incumbent Tom DiNapoli will again be the Democratic nominee for state comptroller.

2. DSA-backed candidates win numerous races on primary night
In addition to the congressional primary victories of Claire Valdez and Darializa Avila Chevalier — both backed by the New York City chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America — candidates endorsed by the organization at the state level picked up numerous victories Tuesday night.
According to the Associated Press, Samantha Kattan beat two other candidates in state Assembly District 37 (Queens); David Orkin beat incumbent Jennifer Rajkumar in state Assembly District 38 (Queens); Christian Tate beat incumbent Erik Dilan in state Assembly District 54 (Brooklyn); Eon Huntley beat incumbent Stefani Zinerman in state Assembly District 56 (Brooklyn); Illapa Sairitupac beat several challengers in state Assembly District 65; and Aber Kawas beat Steven Raga in state Senate District 12 (Queens).
3. Justice Department and New York swap suits over state’s mask ban, immigration enforcement
The U.S. Justice Department announced Tuesday that it is suing the state of New York over a series of immigration-enforcement regulations recently passed as part of the state budget.
Filed in the Western District of New York, the suit challenges the state’s moves to prohibit federal officers from wearing masks and concealing their identities while on duty, and end agreements that allow local municipalities from using resources to assist in federal immigration enforcement.
