A gunman opened fire at a busy Brooklyn intersection Wednesday afternoon, wounding a teenager and a man before fleeing, police said.
Officers responding to a report of shots fired at Montgomery Street and Bedford Avenue in Crown Heights around 12:35 p.m. found a 17-year-old boy suffering from gunshot wounds to the arm and stomach, according to police. A 27-year-old man was also found with a gunshot wound to the arm.
Paramedics rushed both victims to Kings County Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition.

The shooting rattled residents in the neighborhood. Neighbor Samantha Clarke expressed concern following the violence.
“It makes me feel so uncomfortable and I will pray for the victims,” she said. “I have to keep my children out of these streets.”
Authorities say the suspect fled westbound on Montgomery Street after the shooting.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
The shooting comes as gun violence has increased in the 71st Precinct, which covers Crown Heights, Wingate and Prospect Lefferts Gardens. According to NYPD data, reported shooting incidents in the precinct are up nearly 67% year-to-date, with five shootings reported so far in 2026 compared with three during the same period last year.
