Rodeo of the Ozarks Queens help pack 4,680 meals at Northwest Arkansas Food Bank

The Rodeo of the Ozarks Queens spent Thursday volunteering at the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank, helping pack food for families facing food insecurity across the region.According to the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank, more than 95,000 people in Northwest Arkansas do not know where their next meal is coming from.The queens spent the day stacking boxes and sorting donations at the food bank’s facility in Lowell. Organizers said the volunteers helped pack 750 boxes of food and more than 4,680 meals containing items such as peanut butter, rice and cornbread mix.”It’s an amazing opportunity for us to come together and give back to the community,” said Taylor Priest, Miss Rodeo of the Ozarks 2025.The Rodeo of the Ozarks Queens serve as ambassadors for the Rodeo of the Ozarks, an annual event in Springdale that celebrates Western heritage and community traditions. This year’s rodeo concludes Saturday.Kim Daniels, annual fund officer for the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank, said partnerships like this help raise awareness about food insecurity while encouraging community involvement.”Whether you’re just packing what you think is an inessential box, that box will be delivered to a family in need, and they’ll have a meal,” Daniels said.Organizers said the food packed during Thursday’s volunteer event is expected to be delivered to local food pantries within the next two to three days.
