Carnegie Hall Citywide will present five free concerts in Bryant Park through the month of July as part of Bryant Park’s Picnic Performances, an annual summer series of free outdoor shows on the lawn of Bryant Park.
The series of performances will kick off July 3 with the chamber orchestra The Knights, led by brothers Colin and Eric Jacobsen. Also part of Carnegie Hall’s America at 250 celebration, the concert will feature American classical and folk music, with violinist Jeremy Kittel, and vocalists Christina Courtin and Alex Sopp.
The concerts for the rest of the month will include singer-songwriter Avery Wilson (The Wiz) on July 10; Nathan and the Zydeco Cha Chas on July 17; The NYC Ska Orchestra on July 24; and Afro–Puerto Rican bomba fusion ground El Laberinto del Coco on July 31. All performances start at 7pm.
Bryant Park’s summer programming includes free performances, classes, games, and an outdoor reading room. Broadway in Bryant Park, an afternoon concert series featuring performances from Broadway shows, will run every Thursday from July 23–August 13.
