After completing his senior season for Saint Louis University, Brown was not selected in the two-round NBA draft which took place Tuesday and Wednesday nights. However, Thursday morning it was reported that Brown had signed with the Brooklyn Nets.
Brown confirmed with that The Eagle Thursday morning.
He played three seasons for coach Randy Koldys at Monument Mountain, before transferring to Vermont Academy in 2021 — after the pandemic had canceled what would have been his senior season with the Spartans. From there he played two seasons at the University of Maryland Baltimore County in the America East Conference, before transferring to Boston College in the Big East. He transferred again for his senior season to Saint Louis, where he helped lead the Billikens to the second round of the NCAA Tournament this past spring.
In 35 starts for Saint Louis, Brown averaged 11.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. He had 30 steals and shot at splits of 61.6/40.0/75.4 percent. He averaged 23.6 minutes per game.
Against Georgia in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, he scored 18 points on 9-of-10 shooting in just 21 minutes.
The Nets made three picks in the NBA Draft, taking Louisville’s Mikel Brown Jr. sixth overall and Iowa State’s Joshua Jefferson at No. 28. In the second round, they took Tyler Bilodeau of UCLA at No. 43.
Brown’s deal is reportedly an Exhibit 10 contract, which is a one-year non-guaranteed deal to join the team in training camp. If waived, Brown could sign with Brooklyn’s G League team the Long Island Nets.
