CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — A key piece of the Illini’s Final Four team is getting his chance at the next level.

Illini basketball to play North Carolina in Nashville

On Thursday, Illinois men’s basketball announced that Ben Humrichous has signed an Exhibit-10 contract with the Brooklyn Nets. The forward spent two seasons in Champaign and averaged 5.8 points and 3.9 rebounds in 22.5 minutes per game this past season as a graduate student.

Humrichous played in all 36 games and notched two starts in the 2025-26 campaign and was a key piece to the program’s most successful year since the 2004-05 season.

He is now the second player from last year’s squad to make the jump to the pros, as this comes just two days after Keaton Wagler was selected fifth overall in the NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers.
