BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — As PART OF THE NATION’S 250th anniversary, the Guides Association of New York City is offering several free historical walking tours. On Saturday, guide Andy McNeil will be leading the two-hour “Battle of Brooklyn Walking Tour: George Washington’s Daring Revolutionary War Retreat,” retracing Washington’s daring overnight escape from Brooklyn in 1776 — a strategic retreat that helped save the Continental Army.
The tour starts at 11 a.m. at Brooklyn Borough Hall and ends at the Brooklyn Heights Promenade. The tour is free but requires registration, and is limited to 30 guests.
