Manhattan High rising senior Maddie Myers has earned a spot on one of junior golf’s biggest stages.
Representing Stagg Hill Golf Club, Myers qualified for the 2026 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship after winning a playoff at her qualifier.
The championship, hosted by the United States Golf Association, will be held July 13-18 at Old Chatham Golf Club in Durham, North Carolina. A field of 156 of the world’s top junior female golfers will compete in two rounds of stroke play before the top 64 advance to a match-play bracket.
The champion earns exemptions into the 2027 U.S. Women’s Open and the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, the latter of which saw Kansas State’s Carla Bernat Escuder become the first Spaniard to win the title.
The qualification adds to an already decorated prep career for Myers, who has helped Manhattan High capture back-to-back Class 6A state championships.
Myers finished as the Class 6A individual runner-up this spring after carding rounds of 75 and 74 for a 7-over-par total of 149, helping the Indians erase a six-shot deficit on the final day to claim the program’s 13th state title.
As a sophomore, Myers placed third at the state tournament with a 3-over-par total of 145 while helping Manhattan end a 16-year state title drought with the first of its consecutive championships.
During her sophomore season, Myers also broke the Manhattan High school scoring record by firing a 4-under-par 68 at Stagg Hil, lowering her previous school record of 71 which she shared with teammate Kat Ball.
Myers will now turn her attention to the national championship in Durham, where she will compete against many of the nation’s top junior golfers for one of the USGA’s most prestigious junior titles.
